My attempt to cancel my American Express card is too common. MBNA needs to review its customer service Amex needs to explain why my account was charged & why they made it difficult for me to correct the problem.
Ideas?

My advice is to avoid E*Trade.

Beware of the GM Card fee scam on balance transfers when using checks that they send. Identity theft is a fast-growing "legal" theft.

As others have learned, American Express has difficulty accepting cancellations. American Express gave me a hard time when I tried to take a cash advance.
