I booked a flight on Priceline. My mother died & I had to take a flight a few days sooner. Priceline would make no adjustment in fair or schedule.

I booked a flight on Priceline.com for a "total" cost of $400.50 from San Diego, CA to Hartford, CT.  My original bid was $350 (I recall with taxes, etc).

My mother was dying.  My bid was accepted and charged to my credit card.  I was to arrive in Hartford, CT (BDL) 10:53 p.m. on US Airways on 8/23.

My brother called from Massachusetts and told me to get home now, mom isn't going to make it till Saturday, he told me.  I called Priceline and asked them to please book me on a flight for two days earlier.  They refused and said there are no changes, etc.

I subsequently booked a flight on Southwest and they were great.  I got home on the day my mother died!

Priceline personnel were very "cold" very scripted.  They offered "condolences" and said they can't compensate at all -- even in the case of a death.  I have death certificate I sent them and obituary.  I just wanted to get some kind of compensation as I paid for two round trip tickets.

Priceline refused to do anything!  I had to pay for a trip I couldn't possibly take.  My mother was buried the day I was to arrive with Priceline originally.  I would have missed my own mothers funeral!!!

I can't afford to pay for two flights.  I am a secretary.  I am extremely distraught and depressed over this entire situation.

Kind Regards,
