We thought we signed up for unlimited usage, but we were billed by the minute... Now we owe several hundred dollars.

We have had AOL for 2 years and decided to open a second account for business.  We gave all checking account info and the CD listed $23.95 for unlimited minutes.

Two months later I got a big shock when my bank informed me that my checking account was overdrawn by $1,210.00.  It seems that AOL was charging me per minute.  Since I thought I had unlimited usage, I would sometimes stay connected all day.

I contacted AOL customer service and they refused to credit me anything and informed me that my up-coming bill was over 500.00.

This has caused me so much and there seems to be nothing I can do about it.

They claim I set my billing per minute versus the unlimited that I had had the past 2 years.

I wish I knew where to turn to seek advise.
