I went on vacation for a week and a half and the USPS assumed I moved!

I came home to no mail.  I called my local post office and they said I now have to file a change of address form?

Why would I do that if I have not moved?

More importantly, no one can tell me where my mail is.  The person I spoke to says that after 10 days the USPS can send back a person's mail.

I have never in my life heard of this.

I have gone on longer vacations and never had a problem before.

This is a nightmare.
