The computer was built at Best Buy's Creative Station because
I paid to have those nice little extras on it including memory because I would be
downloading quite a bit on it.
The day it was delivered to my house it began freezing up as
soon as I turned it on. I was thinking, thank God I bought the extended three year
warranty for in-home service. That way I could be sure if anything went wrong I
could call Best Buy and they would come and fix it.
Well that never happened. Every time the computer
messed up I would have to take it to the same store I purchased it from which was across
town -- nobody ever came to my home. I thought in-home service meant in your own
home. Anyway, they would claim to fix the computer and give it back to me sometimes
two weeks to two months later.
I saved all my repair receipts as requested, kept my original
purchase receipt, and my paperwork for my three year extended in-home service warranty.
My computer continued to have problems the entire three years.
At the fourth hardware repair it was supposed to be
considered a lemon and I was to receive a new computer of the same standard as the one I
purchased. That never happened either. My computer was in and out of Best Buy
at the least 5 times a year and they were either fixing it or sending it to their Miami
office.
Either way it was never fixed. The one thing that
topped everything off for me is when I took the computer in the final and last time.
The manager of tech support asked me, well we want to see proof you actually bought this
computer. I was extremely upset because I had just been in there six weeks before
and they didn't ask me that. Of course I paid cash so I showed them a receipt.
At that they asked to see the actual check. Not only
that, but when they opened my computer up they said we haven't made computer parts like
this in five to six years. I found that odd especially because I had only purchased
it three years ago.
I will never ever buy anything from Best Buy again.
