I had to replace my 2001 Pontiac Bonneville's transmission at just 53,000 miles.
 

I think a transmission should last a lot longer than 53,000 miles.

I had the filter and fluid changed at 50,000 miles as stated in the owners manual.  There should be no other maintenance required.

Does anyone know of any recalls or other transmission problems with the Pontiac or GM automobiles?

How can I contact GM about this problem?
