What happened to the mileage on my 2000 Ford Contour after the plugs & wires were replaced?
 

Since I had spark plugs & wires replaced 2 weeks ago at about 90,000 miles, I have noticed decreased gas mileage.

It is down about 3 MPG.

The old plugs and wires were original and I was told they were "severely worn."

Is this normal?

Is there a break in period for new plugs?

Should I return to the auto shop?
